31 Days of Fitness: Parallel Hip Circles

Welcome to 31 Days of Fitness, where we bring you a targeted exercise move every day for the entire month, so you can build up your very own personal workout routine to your best body ever.  Each move in this series was designed by former professional dancer and fitness guruAndrea Rogers, whose Xtend Barre studios have grown to 170 locations worldwide.

Today’s move: Parallel Hip Circles

Stand with your feet in parallel position, with toes pointing straight ahead.  Relevé up (be sure to keep your heels high), and plié down to a position where your knees are over your toes and hips are over heels.

Hold this position in your challenge zone and begin to circle your hips to the right for 8 reps.

Repeat the circles to your left. Finally, hold the plié center and pulse down for 16 reps.
