Beadwork on the canvas for beginners: brooch "Autumn, autumn ..."
Today, we will learn how to embroider beads on the canvas using the “Autumn, Autumn ...” brooch as an example. Embroidery on the canvas - it is very simple, but also fast and fun! 🙂
And for this we need:
1.Japanese Toho beads size 15, shades 10B, 83, 459, 457, 329 and 2. If you use other beads, then pick the shades yourself, you will need colors: dark brown, yellow, orange, red, green tea, yellow -brown.
2. Japanese Toho beads of size 11, shades Y301 and 162B (brown and yellow), we need them for a number of plating and fixing series.
3. Canvas, I have 14 Aida, but it is better to take smaller, 16th or 18th. Modern canvas is quite tough, so we don’t need a hoop, only the canvas.
4.A piece of white felt, a piece of thick paper and a piece of natural leather
5.One pin and 3 cm brooch base.
6.Scissors, thread (I always have polyester), glue moment crystal.
We will embroider with size 15 beads. For the base, I took the outline of this ornament:
She removed all unnecessary and embroidered only a leaf.
I take the outline immediately on the squares of the lined line, so it's easier to navigate. We need a piece of a 3.5x4 square. Canvas with a larger pattern are necessary because at the end we will cut the finished embroidery with the size of a millimeter by 2 more bead patterns.
And we begin. We mark the diagram in a convenient place for you, closer to the middle. I mark it on the monitor with a player with a film that I listen to in the process.
We pass through the canvas from the inside, we collect the first bead of the series.
And from the inside out fasten the thread on the triple knot.
Go back to the front side and sew the first bead on the stitch.
Stitches will be in our semi-cross, diagonally. The diagram shows the technique in the semicircle.
We sewed the row to the end and sew the final bead again with two stitches.
The first series is completed, following the scheme, go to the series above.
And the first bead of the series is again sewn on two stitches.
Remember this moment: surely we sew each first and last bead of each row into two stitches!
And we continue to embroider, the beads should stand diagonally one above the other, moving along the outline, following the pattern, from right to left and from left to right.
Two rows made, now you can remove the line from the fishing line. I never delete it at once, it's easier to navigate it, from where to start embroidery.
Pick up the line with a needle and pull out. Not all at once, in stages.
We continue the embroidery. As it comes to the protrusions in the scheme, we embroider the ledges entirely separately, then you can always return.
And now our half leaf is ready!
We return to the middle of the embroidery, passing stitches through the cubes of the canvas. Fear not, these stitches will not be visible.
We turn over the scheme, respectively, too; we find a row on it from which we started, orient ourselves, and continue to embroider a leaf.
And pretty quickly he is ready!
Carefully cut out our leaf, leaving an empty canvas around the millimeter embroidery on two allowances.
Coat the inside out with glue.
Put on the felt.
And we put under the press for 30 minutes. Longer possible, less - no. As a press, any weighty book is perfect.
Half an hour has passed, we take out our embroidery, we cut off the excess felt (I recommend to cut off all sharp corners in a slightly round shape, the thread will cling less). And we begin to sheathe, for this we need beads of size 11 shades Y301 (brown). We remove the needle from the inside out on the front side, leaving the tail with the inside out, and sew the first bead.
And back the thread inside out, and there we fix it with a triple knot.
We withdraw the needle behind the first filigree bead, go through the bead.
We sew two more beads, we try to sew them as tightly as possible to the extreme rows of our embroidery.
And we return from the wrong side to the front side to one bead back.
We pass through this first bead.
And we type two more and sew.
And so - two sewn, one returned, passed through it, two more typed, sewed, one returned, passed through it ... and to the end, pressing this row as tightly as possible to the embroidered pattern.
The series is over, that's what we got.
Carefully cut off the extra felt, then circle our leaf on thick paper.
Cut out the drawn sheet and immediately cut it on the edge by a millimeter or two. And while we set aside.
And we prepare the skin under the base for the brooch - mark out the places where the sides of the pin come out, cut the holes.
And so far we are putting it all aside.
We take a pin, we type on it 13 beads of the size 15 colors 83.
And, too, for the time being we set it aside, but not far 🙂
Paper lining is coated with glue. We place the pin in the center of the leaf from the inside, the pin we will have to depict the leg, we hold it with our fingers. The pin should be between the felt and the paper pad.
And glue the paper strip.
After that we sew the basis for the brooch, coat the entire inside of the embroidery with glue and put it on the skin.
After an hour and a half you can cut off excess skin and sew a stop series. For the finishing series, we take the beads of size 11 of 162B (yellow).
And our autumn brooch is ready!
Based on the knowledge from this MK you can embroider on canvas gizmos of any kind and size. For them, you can use both freely distributed elements of schemes for cross-stitching, and make your own.
