Normalized feeding of dogs of different breeds

Normalized dog feedingNormalized feeding of dogs of different breeds depending on their energy and nutrient requirements, as well as on their purpose and working capacity, is one of the important tasks of the science of feeding. The current norms of feeding are designed for high performance of dogs, preservation of their health, long life and high fecundity with rational use of feed. Both insufficient and excessive feeding is harmful to dogs and unprofitable for organizations, departments, farms, kennels, factories and owners.

In different periods of development of dog breeding, the normalization of feeding dogs was approached differently. Modern norms of feeding dogs are refined and detailed for everyday use in the practice of dog breeding.

Normalized feeding of dogs includes the need for metabolic energy, protein, fats, carbohydrates, fiber, minerals, amino acids, vitamins. At present, rationing of energy is of great importance for sooak of all breeds and age groups, in different periods of the physiological state, depending on the work being done, conditions of detention, and also depending on climatic and other external conditions. In this regard, on the one hand, the norms used earlier are specified taking into account the conditions of keeping dogs, on the other - they are detailed, i.e. the number of indicators reflecting the need of dogs for various nutrients increases.

Detailed norms for dogs include up to 30 indicators.

Rationing of feeding in a large number of indicators requires specialists to have relevant knowledge and skills, to obtain data on the full chemical composition of the feed, and in some cases, the use of special computing equipment.

Feeding, consistent with the needs of dogs for all of the standard nutrients, is called balanced. A daily set of feed that satisfies the physiological norm of the nutritional needs of dogs, compiled with regard to the norms in force and the goals of feeding, is called a diet.

With the right ratio in the diet of food, their useful properties are mutually complemented, feeding becomes more complete, the dogs better absorb the nutrients contained in the food.

The basic principle of rationing is aimed at the best combination of all the nutrients contained in it in the right amount (energy, protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins) that are necessary for a dog to live, taking into account sex, age, physiological state, work performed ( load), i.e. its maximum balance.
